Relief Support Workers - ongoing interviews for Relief Staff every month during 2014

We have a number of Relief Support Worker shifts available.  

 

You will be required to support residents to undertake the routines of daily life, including meeting personal care needs and all other aspects of care essential to their wellbeing.  

 

We are looking for enthusiastic, creative, flexible and committed individuals with excellent communication skills.  If you have SVQ3 in Health & Social Care that would be an advantage, however, a willingness to work towards achieving this is essential and we will support you in this.

Now recruiting Voluntary Board Members

We are currently seeking several new Board Members.  Experience in any of the following areas would be beneficial: accountancy and finance, HR, social care, charity governance or an anthroposophical background.  However, enthusiasm and commitment to providing the best possible service to our residents are the most important qualifications.  

 

This is a voluntary position.  Board members are expected to attend a monthly evening meeting, and may also be asked to attend occasional meetings with residents, their families, and staff.  Some availability for daytime meetings would also be helpful.

Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG Scheme)

The PVG scheme was implemented on 28th February 2011.  This replaces disclosure checks for people working with vulnerable groups. 

If you are new to Garvald Glenesk you are responsible for registering with the scheme before you start working with us.  Upon receipt of your references we can supply you with a PVG application pack.  Registration will cost you £59. 

If you are already a member of the scheme we will carry out a scheme record update before you can begin working with us. 

Volunteers can become members of the PVG scheme at no cost. 

Scottish Social Services Council

Registration with SSSC is compulsory for all workers in Care Home Services for adults. 

 

Support Workers must be registered by 30th September 2015.

 

Practitioners must be registered by 29th March 2013. 

 

Any new additions to the team at Garvald Glenesk have six months from the beginning of employment to register.

 

It is the responsibility of the employee to join the register and maintain registration.
