Our practioners care for and offer support to adults who may have a variety of support needs including: mental health difficulties, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, or autism in our beautiful residential setting in the outskirts of Edinburgh.

 

The successful applicants will be supporting our residents in their care home setting, with all aspects of daily living, such as personal care, home care, meals and medication, social and recreational activities, as well as enabling them to develop meaningful relationships and establish links within the local area.

 

Relevant experience is desirable, however an ability to get along with people, practical life skills and common sense are just as important. Full induction and training will be provided, as well as the opportunity to gain an SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care. Our staff also enjoy a competitive salary, flexible working, employer's contribution towards a workplace pension, as well as other employee-related rewards.

 

Salary up to £19,700 depending on qualifications and experience.

Relief Social Care Practitioners - Ongoing Vacancies

We have a number of relief social care practitioner shifts available.  Our relief practioners care for and offer support to adults who may have a variety of support needs including: mental health difficulties, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, or autism in our beautiful residential setting in the outskirts of Edinburgh. 

 

As a relief practitioner the working hours are fully flexible and can be tailored around the successful applicants existing commitments

1:1 Social Care Practitioners - Various Hours

We have an exciting opportunity to support individual residents to be able to maintain and develop their life skills. We require 1:1 practitioners to work with individuals who require additional support in order to enable them to follow their person-centred plans and develop greater community links. 

 

Salary up to £19,700 (FTE) depending on qualifications and experience.

Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG Scheme)

The PVG scheme was implemented on 28th February 2011.  This replaces disclosure checks for people working with vulnerable groups. 

If you are new to Garvald Glenesk you are responsible for registering with the scheme before you start working with us.  Upon receipt of your references we can supply you with a PVG application pack.  Registration will cost you £59. 

If you are already a member of the scheme we will carry out a scheme record update before you can begin working with us. 

Volunteers can become members of the PVG scheme at no cost. 

Scottish Social Services Council

Registration with SSSC is compulsory for all workers in Care Home Services for adults, and we will support you with this.

 

Any new additions to the team at Garvald Glenesk have six months from the beginning of employment to register.

 

It is the responsibility of the employee to join the register and maintain registration.
