Part time Fundraiser

We are currently recruiting a Part Time Fundraiser to work at our office within one of the services.  The successful candidate will be required to develop and increase contributions from individuals, corporations and Trusts and Foundations to Garvald Glenesk, by building relationships and exploring new fundraising opportunities. 


Duties of the role will include:

Researching funding opportunities and identifying potential leads

Working to the current fundraising strategy and helping to develop the future strategy

Maintaining and developing current fundraising pack

Developing e-correspondence and the Garvald Glenesk website to support fundraising

Completing applications to funding bodies and ensuring all reporting back is carried out

Maintaining accurate records of all fundraising activity

Organising fundraising events

Completing regular reports on activities and income for the Council of Management

Building relationships with key individuals and groups and networking with potential donors

Monitoring and developing merchandise strategy


We are looking for someone who is inspired and driven to help achieve our aims and targets.  You will be persuasive, and have excellent people skills.

Applicants for this post must have strong IT skills, research skills and ability to analyse and use information from different sources. You will have an understanding of and empathy with the needs of adults with learning disabilities.

Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG Scheme)

The PVG scheme was implemented on 28th February 2011.  This replaces disclosure checks for people working with vulnerable groups. 

If you are new to Garvald Glenesk you are responsible for registering with the scheme before you start working with us.  Upon receipt of your references we can supply you with a PVG application pack.  Registration will cost you £59. 

If you are already a member of the scheme we will carry out a scheme record update before you can begin working with us. 

Volunteers can become members of the PVG scheme at no cost. 

Scottish Social Services Council

Registration with SSSC is compulsory for all workers in Care Home Services for adults. 


Support Workers must be registered by 30th September 2015.


Practitioners must be registered by 29th March 2013. 


Any new additions to the team at Garvald Glenesk have six months from the beginning of employment to register.


It is the responsibility of the employee to join the register and maintain registration.
